Goseong-gun of Gangwon-do serves as the East Gateway to the Demilitarized Zone and land access to Geumgangsan Mountain. It is the only county in Korea that's divided into two by the Korean War. It recently became a popular tourist site with more than one million annual visitors who mostly come for the DMZ tour. With the themes of history and national security, which includes the DMZ observatory, the area also includes a museum dedicated to the Korean War and national division, and clean nature.
